Vintage 1950s Cashmere Cardigan w/ Ivory Pearl Mink Fur Collar by Bernhard Altmann

Classic & chic this cardigan features a lovely luxurious lace interior lining and a snap removable mink collar in a beautiful ivory white color.

Bernhard Altmann, an Austrian textile manufacturer, has a fascinating history! His business was stolen and his family's art collection was looted by Nazis because of their Jewish Origins. He had to sign over his business to the Nazis for them to release his imprisoned brother from Dachau Concentration Camp. After recovering and moving to New York he introduced cashmere wool to North America on a mass scale in 1947.
